Vandalism is a huge problem in that area, especially the Freedom Trail parking lot. I would NEVER camp at the Freedom Trailhead.You can run into morons coming in drunk and on drugs at all hours of the night. Not to mention it is a heavily used area to get to the springs. Unless you want to look at cars and hikers when you are camping, then go for it. Bowen Ranch would be much better I believe, even though I have never camped there.
