That is a very important point which should be brought up to our emergency preparedness people. They should build moble cell phone towers mount them on mobile trailers and distribute them through out earthquake country.

It reminds me that after the Northridge quake as I was inspecting the rail road tracks ands cars along the freeway. My mother called me on my cell phone to see if I was OK. It was an other worldly experiance. I felt like I was in - Do -Do- Do -- daaah the twilight zone. Shortly afterwards a photographer took that picture of my truck in front of the fire which was coming out of the water in the street.
That was on the 101 highway in Reseda. What had happened was the water tank up the hill had spilled all of its water onto the highway where the gas main had ruptured.
