Incredulous, Its very simple. The public has a right to access thier public lands. There have been many roads on the Northern Side of DCHS that have been closed over the years because of various reasons. Now route 4 to 3 is the remaining open public access route that brings you anywhere close to the springs from the north. I hike from route 3, an open public route, I cross forestry lands legally and have never expressed that I should be given some type of special treatment beyond the rest of the public who wish to go to DCHS. Mike Castro has his own agenda, and is not a BLM or Forestry official and therefor should not be the only conduit of access available to the public in thier efforts to legally access the springs. If you don't understand why this makes sense then so what. I'll always advocate to the BLM and the Forestry that there should always be a option for the general public besides being controlled and judjed in visits to public lands by a private land owner.
