Ken, the answer to your question is neither. The parking area that Wiz described is before you reach the little wooden gate by that road you cross. His parking area is to the west on that road, up a steep undoubtedly 4WD hill.. According to the map mentioned above, I think it's along route three where the route first dips into the National Forest Service land.
