Ken, I found the map you were talking about at the WANR site. The address for that page shows as
http://wanr.earthbiz.net/DCHSaccess.gif and it would not come up for me with the address you gave. On that map you will notice a blue X just south of the Bowen Ranch. This is the Lower Forestry Parking Lot that I referred to in my discussion of Northern Access. Just to the left of this blue X you can see that route 3 dips into Forestry lands in one other place. The Forestry boundry is the black line running from left to right across the page through the blue X. I park in that other area where route 3 hits Forestry lands and a trail heads directly south then south east and eventually hits the Bowen Ranch trail a good ways south ( or down ) from the blue X ( the LFPL ). Hope that makes it more clear for you.
