MValley - Here's some recent info from Jobe on access to Goldstrike. There are alterrnative ways to access it until the road construction is complete.
"I found this canyon on my computers Topo map feature. On my topo map program I can fly around as if in a helicopter. Also I had heard from locals about an alternate open route. On my topo map this canyon was no name canyon. So I call it No Name canyon. Where No Name canyon empties into Gold Strike canyon It is 1.2 miles to the construction. So one most likely would be safe from any potential dangers. Also I talked to the police about this route and they said it should be OK to use. The locals always have.
This Saturday while traveling this route I used my GPS to get an exact measurement from US 93 to the turn off from open route 75. It was exactly 1.2 miles from the pavement to the road that turns off of open route 75. "
