MValley, in not too long a time the creek will warm up to swimming temps. All along Deep Creek, around DCHS, there will be lots of new sandy beaches this year, and great clean pools to swim in. This will give you an opportunity to enjoy other parts of Deep Creek by the springs if you happen to encounter undesireable folks like you ran into. Your experience, as others have suggested, was unfortunate. I think in your future visits you would not come across such an abundance of inconsiderate and closed minded people. I did run across one disagreeable individual last year who was in the Womb ( Big Pool ) for a number of hours, telling people that only clothed people could enter the pool. I had some tense words with him on that subject, he showed himself to be a very angry, and aggressive sort. That was the first time anything like that had every happened to me in my 20 years of visiting DCHS. Like any place, your going to run into some " less than fun " people every once in a while. I always ( when weather permits ) go without clothing, hiking too, and at Deep Creek, and DCHS. We are fortunate that the USFS allows us to enjoy the water course of Deep Creek and the springs, with clothes, or without. I hope your next visit to DCHS will produce nothing but good memories :-)
