Yes Katrina, I was elected as a designated representive of this organization and donate my time free of any financial compensation. Our group also includes members who have signed volunteer agreements with the BLM. The results of our efforts can be found at the VP mine site where at our urging, the BLM recently fenced off the open mineshaft that was a danger to the public.
We also recently participated in a volunteer rehabilitation project at Arrastre Falls (tahiti falls) that got a nice picture in the V V Daily Press. Unfortunatly, within a week OHV vandals had destroyed the project by throwing the hiking trail markers into the creek. By cutting up the fence and engaging in illegal hillclimbing at this special location, these rouge riders demonstrated what nice people they are by trashing the work of BLM employees, college kids from the SCA, and local volunteers from the Friends Of Juniper Flats.
Feel free to join us as a member as we are open to all.
