I do not intend to contridicte you L.B. However that meterorite is in Barstow,
at the desert research center. At least it was a few years ago, when I saw it. I do not think they move it around much it weighs several thousand pounds. It is quite an impressive rock. The center is one of those good things the BLM sponsers. There are many interesting and educational exibits there. I went there one day and thought I would spend a little time. like 20 - 30 minuets, but stayed several hours. There is a plaque in front of it that has the history on it. Of couse they tell it a little different ;~)
For those who do not know, Old Woman springs is S.E. of Lucern Valley. near the back enterance to Big Bear.
