Hey now Katrina...my intent wasnt to diminish Gary the Growler's actions. I was just stating the facts mam. You forgot the part where I dropped off Cote and Nancy with the injured party and chased gary in my truck as far as the turnoff to Bowen Ranch in an attempt to apprehend and hold him for the cops. I was hot! Maybe you didnt get that part of the story.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
What do you think about the BLM plan for a parking area.?by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
All of this is a mute point my friends. I have been reviewing the WEMO environmental report sent to me by the BLM. The plan for Juniper Flats and the Deep Creek area is limited multi-use with an access parking area suitable for equestrian groups to access. Thats right...the BLM plans for a parking area for the public to use. The plan doesnt state the exact location however. Well William....how much gold did your mill produce? I dont recall ever seeing a working mill at the site. And whats this about you being partners with Mike Castro in a mining venture? I believe this thread is titled "Moss Mill Bulldozed",who is really distracting attention here? William was evicted from public lands with just cause and legal due process. Which beating are you refering to Katrina, I am aware of several. Gary was "Un hombre malo".The one I witnessed was on Bowen Ranch road near my place. I never said this beating was justified. Remember,I dont condone violent behavior such as assault or shooting at people, waving guns at people ect.....ect by anyone. I do believe that people may defend themselves if their life is in immedby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was there that day a long time ago.......it was insanity and yes, John Ware pulled all kinds of stunts.....as far as others go, I remember that William always roamed around the hills with a semi-automatic rifle strapped to his body and created a bunker like "fort" at the old Moss Ranch. It was never an actual mill, that was all pretend. One of his associates was arrested for an incidby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I believe you are mistaken my friend about DCHS inc. There are others involved including my good friend and neighbor the infamous bullet dodging Hotspringer Roe. His property on Andes trail is the mailing address for DCHS inc. Gee....thats right next door to my place! To be honest,I really dont ever recall seeing Gail there at all. I have run into William a couple of times though and his rant wby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yes...I remember Gary the Growler well. He was somewhat lacking in social grace as I recall. I never had a problem with him over the years though. He would loan me a horse once in a while and I would loan him my motorcycle. I do recall helping a drunk man who wound up on the wrong end of Gary's baseball bat. Under all of his violent anger issues was a scared and lonely man. He died as a result oby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hey Katrina...you forgot John Ware. Years ago I was there when he blocked the road to the Bowen Ranch with a skiploader tractor. I watched in amazement as he actuallly drove it at people flipping the bucket......I split when the cops showed up! Jobe, when you go to the IRS remember....all of those burritos I made at the grateful dead shows were actually donated to those kind hippies who in turnby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was just wondering.......did William ever cough up a single cent to reimburse US taxpayers for the thousands of $$$ spent evicting him from that phoney sham of a mining claim? I dont believe he ever milled one cent of ore.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I paid my property taxes this year and......the roadgrader shows up once in a while. Money well spent. No Wizard...Im not saying I condone people not paying taxes,I am opposed in my tax contribution being spent blowing away innocent civilians who happen to live where our President decides to wage a war.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Taxes are revolting.....why arent we? Billions for bombs to kill and pennys for nurses to heal. Watch what you say....you can be labeled a "terrorist" and held indefinatly without charges being filed, going to trial or even seeing a laywer. Good points Katrina on the business aspect of the Bowen Ranch. I can aggree with you word for word in paragraph 2 of the above post. Imagine that....anyway,the volume of visitors accessing via the Bowen Ranch does impact the area with increased traffic on the road, especially on weekends. There is a legal responsibility in this state regarding businesses and their customers. Bar owners have beenby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I saw Jim Pepper's cartoon on Katrina's website and didn't find it funny. I found it to be degrading and insulting to my amigos from Mexico. It's racist slant was unacceptable in my book. I think we aggree Wizard on free public access issue but the JF4 to JF3 route does require some forthought from those who choose to travell it. In reading the latest posts here regarding Kevin, the anger and overt verbal hostility once again rears its ugly head from the anti-castro faction. I believe that Kevin has a right as a property owner to peace and quiet. I dont understand why he is the latest target of this ongoing fued. This kind of behavior certainly wont convince him to allow the public to cross his property. A title search bby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

When I was fightin fires we had a definition for BLM: Bunch of Lazy Men! There's gonna be a fish fry in the village this weekend. See the infamous Hotspringer Roe for details. Enjoy that moon......OWWWWWOOOOOOOOOby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
USFS is under the Agriculture Dept, the BLM is under the Dept.of the Interior. Different agencies with different cabinet members presiding over them. Just a clarification for ya Jobe. Try parking on BLM land next time,no adventure pass required.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The wheels on the bus go round and round...round and round.....I dont see whats wrong with a private campground at the Bowen Ranch. Since the USFS does not allow camping at the hotsprings, there is a need for a viable camping area that people can use. Its been pointed out that there is a lack of sanitary facilities for the campers to use, but this situation can be easily addressed with a couple oby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
"Low life trailer trash?" Hey......some of us resemble that comment! I kinda like the "low lifestyle" of my home sweet home in the village. Where else can you live like a king in a tin palace? Enough of all of the mudslinging....I think I'll go chase some albacore down on the cool blue ocean for a change of scenery. Hopefully we will be havin a "lowlife trailer trash&quoby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I didnt quite understand the last part of your post Jobe but I do want to thank you for taking care of your bus. I was good to see part of it recycled into a greenhouse. I did manage to salvage the "welcome aboard" emblem from it and will give it to you next time we meet. Happy Trails!by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Good thoughts there Mr Wizard. I am one of those DCV members that parks in the wildlands of free access. I also enjoy the many hiden treasures that await in the ravines that lead into deepcreek. As of today ,hiking is not a crime! The old Moss Ranch road did provide good free access to the area however I must respect the private property rights of Kevin and Tanya. So this route is closed today aby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sometimes we people make decisions that dont turn out the way they plan. This is a good example. Since its not illegal to hike in on USFS or BLM lands ,the status quo remains today. Ultimatly, the USFS will decide what they want to do. I like the idea of volunteering for trailwork if the USFS wants some help in the future.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
No Rick, I would not resort to violence over some name calling. I am not suprised that you are having personal difficulties with others though due to your behavior. Ok Rick....time to get your facts straight. I never resided at the Bowen Ranch. I did stay at the old Moss Ranch long before William's arrival when Annie and Lyle had the place. It sounds like you are trying to involve me in your personal grudge with Mike Castro. My name is not "sky" although some of my old friends remember that from the old hippy days. I guess this one person really gets around Rick......there is a vandalism problem at the trailhead for Mt Rubidoux in Riverside as well.
