hey wizard i saw the same postings that you did. Those photos posted - the link is now dead, but I've found them linked on another website (crazy conspiracy website, so won't post the thread here) and these links might still work - http://i.imgur.com/2r92zXs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/m5nGt9u.jpg On another discussion thread, a springer who was at the springs last night reports: "I hby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

People seem to have been forgetting in recent years that it is illegal to camp in the Deep Creek basin, within 1 mile of the creek. Fires definitely also a problem. They were ticketing both, and off-leash dogs.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So I heard from someone else who received a ticket - they were giving one ticket per camping group. Would be better per person I agree. The ticket was $175 dollars. This person also told me that they were ticketing not only for camping, and for fires, but also dogs off-leash. Which should make Paul P and Blueye happy! Didn't know of previous tickets for dogs.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I definitely heard from a friend that campers were cited, and one fine was issued for an open fire. I'm really happy to hear about it too! It is good to have a trip report on this, I was hoping there would be one or some...heard about the K9 unit going in and wondered if it was a drug related thing. But it really does seem it was about the out of control camping situation.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wow seems like I've read this series of responses before…oh yeah! I have. The other 100x anti-dog posts have been aired here. It's not going to change a thing. It's a great dog friendly hike and place for dogs to swim. I love the dogs I've met down there. Focus on the things about the springs that need education and change - my two cents.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hot springs aren't for swimming, and though people ignore this unfortunately, they are not for dogs to share with humans. Do you get in your bathtub after bathing your dog or with your dog? The springs are for purification, cleansing, soaking without the smell and fur of dogs. And I love dogs. Though it's cold right now, you see, there is this really great flowing creek called Deep Creek right neby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Love visiting with Hippie Dave. Paul P. I think he usually only can go, or mostly only can go on Fridays and weekends. Yeah, because of work I assume. But he, along with Wizard and some others, have been the regulars I most associate with the springs over my years of visiting.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The day after the dismantling, I came across this photo of the Womb on Instagram: http://iconosquare.com/p/1170014186451843542_2202592125 Looks really nice. I guess being the weekend there were lots of crowds around while the dismantling happened. T posted a photo on the Facebook group but then removed it, I can imagine why. But I saw this photo of the springs on Instagram, work in progressby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
great report and photos JTDahl. I met you down there once in summer with your dad. With the Womb, the outside air will cool it down of course - and no sun heating it up like in the warmer months. That might be the difference?by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The new wall has been signed, or initialed in cement, like Mr. D.S. once did, but I can't remember the name or initials right now as they were not at all familiar to me from my years going to the springs...by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Happy New Year to the Deep Creek community. May we all see each other at the springs very soon. Here are my questions for 2016: Will it snow at the hot springs? A lot? Will it flood? Will we have high waters and new sand formations come spring? Will Jobe return? Will we plant some new trees? Will the old ones survive? Will people get with the program and pack out what they paby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was at the springs today. Happy to say that most campers were camping up at the ranch, when I hiked out there were 3 or 4 tents already set up before sunset, perhaps by some who were down at the springs still. At the springs, yes, there were some campers. They spent the day smoking too much weed, and making a mess of things by building a big fire in the "hobo camp" area of the beachby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
No one should camp down by the springs. You have to be a mile away from the creek. I don't camp much out there in the cold winter months--hike in on the Bradford Ridge trail to avoid river crossings if that gets too cold and too high after rains. Or still go in via Bowen Ranch to just spend a nice day. Actually it is meant to be almost 75 or 80 out there tomorrow. But perhaps to snow by Friday. it did both - Wizard will correct me if i'm wrong. you could increase flow to the anniversary pool by shifting sand bags, decrease flow to the womb down the chute. i've done that when the anniversary pool was not warm enough during cold moments. but normally water was flowing into the anniversary and down the chute to the womb, but some would overflow the anniversary and make its way down the chaby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Here are two photos from Instagram by some young person who seems mostly to just post photographs of herself, endlessly, but here she is posing on the new wall and pool construction: http://iconosquare.com/p/1104565008577427244_16736372 http://iconosquare.com/p/1106033342359630983_16736372by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
In a recent visit to the springs, I noticed someone has been at work on the main pools. There are some new "toe holds" and steps in the area leading down from the Womb to the Serenity pool and that area. Some of hippie dave's handiwork has been covered over and erased, some things added that are new. But the major thing is a kind of huge wall that has been built where the water runsby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Clearly nudity is not an issue at Deep Creek - unlike what has happened up at Bagby Hot Springs, where the policies regarding the naturist traditions of the place are being trampled on by the concessionaire (a company from CA) that was hired to manage the site for the FS. blueye7 when was the last time you visited the springs? the photo you posted is from a lake arrowhead local from early May. here is the tree in a photo someone else posted early August : http://iconosquare.com/p/1042465926460642843_14412212 the tree was saved. it was completely knocked over and its roots mostly ripped from the ground before it was pruned, as you put it, and uprighted, and rby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yeah its amazing to see how this tree has come back to life! Precisely because of those who seem to have done the impossible - cutting and pruning and uprighting and moving soil and watering. I used a bucket left there to water the tree every time I walked past it last time I was at the springs.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Free hiking is part of the Deep Creek culture and is not "risky" - totally fine in the area as it is National Forest. You can search on this board for more discussions on this, including details of the small section of the Bowen trail that goes over BLM land where conceivably you could get a ticket…if there was a ranger sitting on that tiny portion of the trail for that express purposby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
LOL (really). I was at the springs the other day, and there are so. many. catfish! In the creek, as you swim let's say from the Phoenix Pool down creek, round the bend to the lagoon that has the slack line over it, there are some reeds on your right side, by the new rope swing. Every time, I mean every time I went past them and was "on foot" with my feet touching bottom, I got bit, aby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
It's an aggro post for sure, and didn't seem justified by the original post. It's the kind of post that drove me away from posting regularly on this board about my visits anymore. If you want to spread the news about not camping out there, you can do it in a different way.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
