No one should camp down by the springs. You have to be a mile away from the creek. I don't camp much out there in the cold winter months--hike in on the Bradford Ridge trail to avoid river crossings if that gets too cold and too high after rains. Or still go in via Bowen Ranch to just spend a nice day. Actually it is meant to be almost 75 or 80 out there tomorrow. But perhaps to snow by Friday. If I did camp, I would car camp at the Ranch or elsewhere people park, there are fire rings if it is not too windy, and my car is big enough to sleep in and packed with Mexican blankets.

Because it is cold at night now, the worst is all the folks who seem to want to build fires down by the springs. I really hate that, and it isn't safe. Since trees have lost their leaves, the camping-challenged often hack away at living trees for fire wood, killing off essential vegetation by the springs. Bring your own fire wood, and use the fire rings up at the Ranch.
