I would NOT go to DCHS alone if I were a single woman. There are too many weirdos, pervs, drunken druggies and Megans Law offenders down there. Plus many other things can happen in the area...like a rattlesnake bite and getting lost. For your own safety, dont go alone. I have been raised in these mountains and heard too many sad stories. Like a local man's daughter getting molested behind some rby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
DCHS is welcome to all visitors. Gay and straight, but being too affectionate/sexual in public is disturbing...and DCHS is a public place. A family with children may walk up across the creek and see people having intercourse in the pools at any given time, and thats just not right for the family or other visitors at DCHS.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
mellowguy, I have been going to the springs for 7 years until almost a year ago, i'm 22 years old. I live just off of Roundup Way and have lived in the Mariana Ranchos nearly all my life.I have seen and heard of these creeps at DCHS and living at the Village or surrounding areas in unincorporated Apple Valley. Also, Southern California has a lot of low lives and some just happen to visit DCHS.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I understand Paul P is trying to get his point across. Camping at DCHS creates more trash, firepits,...not to mention the strong chance of wildfires this year with all the rainfall. People get hurt a lot at DCHS, especially at night! If its not your foot sliced open or your skull cracked....it will be the rattlesnake hanging out on the beach at 11 o clock at night. (true stories by the way) (= Beby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I wouldnt be camping at DCHS and in the canyon at all this weekend! So re-think your plans and pick up all your trash where ever you go!!by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I have seen some pretty bizarre and nasty behavior at DCHS.Over the years I have ran into every piece of low life trash at DCHS (tweekers,crackheads,drunks,e-tards,acid droppers, gang bangers, skinheads, perverts, stalkers, fighters and people who are insane). I have also met many wonderful human beings and had great memories there.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Rangers will most likely be down at the springs this weekend. Bowen Ranch is the best spot.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Vandalism is a huge problem in that area, especially the Freedom Trail parking lot. I would NEVER camp at the Freedom Trailhead. You can run into morons coming in drunk and on drugs at all hours of the night. Not to mention it is a heavily used area to get to the springs. Unless you want to look at cars and hikers when you are camping, then go for it. Bowen Ranch would be much better I believe, evby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Deep Creek Canyon has some of the biggest rattlesnakes I have ever seen. Mostly Southern Pacific, and few Speckled Rattlesnakes.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Luckily I know people who live very very close to the dam. Doesnt matter anymore because I wont be going to DCHS from now on. I would NEVER park at the dam or even by the 173. There are way too many fuckheads in this desert. Wizard is right as well....way too much graffiti on that section of the PCT. It makes me sick to my stomach. If I ever find a tagger in the wilderness im going to accidentlyby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks for the encouraging words Jobe. I forsee a dark future for D.C.H.S, it's just going to get worse and worse. I read that Victorville is in the top 50 cities for U.S. moving destinations. Im sure thats not going to help. Victorville sucks, I live in Southern Apple Valley, in the Marianas and try to avoid VV as much as I can.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I'm not too sure how far they were from DCHS, but I definatley agree most people who go down into Deep Creek Canyon are not properly prepared. Especially the young crowd (keep in mind i am 22) - it sucks when you see groups of younger knuckleheads being rowdy with 60 beers, a bottle of liquor, no food or water. Half the time with no ice cooler so they are chugging them as fast as possible while bby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Damn I hate trigger happy cops. That's messed up there was no need to kill the bear.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I am very upset there is more vandalism. Thanks for reporting this here, I still haven't gone back since our car was totaled. (The night they also burnt a truck down) It's so sad.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
More vandalism? What is going on? I can't believe it!by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I highley doubt those were the same guys Jobe. They were from Apple Valley, I am %100 positive because one of them used to ride my bus in high school. Plus, the explorer at the Freedom trail was also vandalized and not in any condition to be driving on a freeway. I feel bad for those guys you wrongfully accused. Those guys will get theirs, do you believe in karma? I do. Nobody is going to be a heby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I highley doubt those punks will come back to DCHS. If they do....they are sure to start more trouble. I still havent been back since.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard, Earlier that day. A group of four or five guys from apple valley (ages 19-25) were down there. One of them confronted me and 3 of my fellow hot springers about his white explorer that he left on the road on the last hill before you get to the trailhead. I guess someone had broke into the broken down explorer and pushed it off the road so it wasnt blocking the road. He seemed intoxicateby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I havent been back since my cousins car was damaged. I dont know the status of the trailhead. Me and my friends are still debating when we or how we will ever go back. I recognized one of the vandals from high school, although I could not find him in the year book because I didnt know his name. Friday, July 18th. My cousins car was vandalized. Windows smashed....body damage. Completely totaled. Another truck was set on fire. It looked like it was an older Ford F 150 long bed. I believe it was these group of younger kids from Apple Valley, whose truck was damaged themselves so I believe they retaliated on innocent people. I am a frequent visitor of DCHS and always help maintain the placeby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yeah, I plan on maintaining that place. A couple weeks ago there was a group of people camping there all weekend with dirtbikes. you couldnt even turn around at the end of the road. i had to wait an hour for someone to move. It was sad, i hated seeing that. they left trash all over along with a large fire pit.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Me and two of my female companions went there the other day and took out two bags of trash, there was toilet paper strung over some trees, beer cans, shot gun shells and more trash...lots of glass too. I also made a sign that says "respect this place". Thats one of my favorite spots to go and i hate to see it get thrashed by all these disrespectful people.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The road to the Freedom Trail is a bit rugged. You need a high clearance truck, 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. I would not recommend taking your car on it what so ever. -Mikeby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yeah I have had a few close calls, especially dirtbikers and those guys on the Rhinos. Be careful!by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wow, that really sucks...why would someone even bring power tools down there? This makes me pretty upset. Leave DCHS like nature intended it. I'm only 20 but I have just as much respect for DCHS as much as most of the regulars who have possibly going there since before I was born.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yeah, thanks for telling me the actual name of the trail. None of their gear got lost, they were camped high enough out of the waters reach. I believe he learned his lesson. Haha.by DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
They werent washed away. They would be dead. All four of the campers were two seperate parties ( my cousin and his gf, then there were another couple down there too that they didnt know) It all occured the afternoon/night of January 26th and all day/evening of the 27th. I had went to DCHS the morning and early afternoon of the 26th (and it was beautiful!), hoping to meet my cousin, who said he waby DesertHiker420 - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
