Hi Rick, I'll check that out when I go up there. By my estimation, if the road is closed past the right turn off to Big Caliente (FS 5N16), then the distance in to Little Caliente would be about 5 1/2 miles. Does that sound about right? Looks like I'll hike or mountain bike in.
I suspect that the Forest Service closed the road to reduce visitor impacts, or there is some temporary flood damage.
