Limited liability insurance is not as expensive as one might think to obtain. My sister has a trapeze school near San Diego and maintains insurance. Her customers do sign a risk waiver but that does not completly give her immunity from lawsuits.

A subject the DCV can discuss at our next meeting is trail markers. Recognizing a need in the area, we can take a pro-active approach and coordinate a Friends of Juniper Flats/ Deep Creek Volunteers project. Perhaps these two groups can work together to address this need on both sides of the USFS/BLM boundry. The USFS will no doubt recognize this need after the senseless death of this unfortunate hiker. Too many hikers are getting lost in the vicinity of the Bowen Ranch.
