My post begining this thread was in no way an attempt to place blame on any individual, but was intended to illustrate California law as interpeted by a lawyer friend. As far as a the suggestion to mark the trail better, it can be done in an asteticaly cool way using rockstacks or small marker posts. The owner of Bowen Ranch has long complained of ill equipped lame brained flatlanders that get lost . Trail markers help avoid some confusion to those who are not used to the wild surroundings of Deep Creek.
