Deep Creek canyon is a wild and rugged place. When the sun sets, it is easy for those who are unfamilier with the trail to take a wrong turn. It was a real bad night to make that mistake. What I find amazing is this woman froze within 50 feet of a trailer with a woodstove, blankets and food. Us mountain folks understand what survival is and in that situation, one does whatever they have to do to survive. Unfortunatly, they did not and they paid the price. Did Ronnie Bates meet a similar fate alone in the wilds?
