Great job on that letter, Ron. Lets hope it helps with lifting the closure. Like many others, I am overdue for a soak!
I like Laughing Bear's suggestion for an alternative meeting place the best so far. It has the advantages of an easy walk in, rock shelters to help if it is windy, and a chance for all to see the ACEC through which a motorcycle trail is now officially closed. On the down side, though, the drive to it is over some really rough road. It can be done without four-wheel drive, but caution is advised.
Round Mountain would also be nice, considering that I haven't climbed it yet it would be a new experience for me, but some might not consider the hike very easy. Also, where would we park our vehicles? The ACEC has a good-sized parking area.
Another possibility would be to have the meeting at someone's house who lives locally. This has the advantage of the comfort of an indoor meeting, which might be nice if it is very cold or windy. I would have no problem using my house, but of course would not want the address or directions posted on the forum, meaning that the general public would not be able to attend.
I think it is timely to consider alternative meeting places now, in case we can not in fact meet at the springs. Any other ideas out there?
