DCR, Although it's just a small point, I was referring to "Hot Springs and Hot Pools of the U.S." This book is a bit old, 1990. It was co-authored by Marjorie Gersh-Young . Jayson Loam and Dave Bybee, who included a special section in it called "The High Hot Ones" (Sierra Nevada mountain springs). I still prefer this book to some of the newer ones, including Marjories latest. It's got a lot more photos and the actual size is bigger. 81/2" by 11".

I agree DCR that the Fales ditch is still soakable. From what I remember, it was hard to find a place to park off the road and I think we went though a fence or something.
