Be sure to stop by Hot Creek and check out the geothermals. Dangerously hot in many places but soakable in the creek. Awesome in the early morning with the steam rising. Also ,nearby is Shepards, Crabcooker, Whitmore , Wild Willie's and a couple of others as well. All are just off 395 near the Mammoth turnoff. Check out soaknet or another resource for directions.

Travertine is pretty cool to soak and the minerals have formed a big nose that drips with green algea underneath! When you get to bridgeport, turn east by the Ranger Station and follow the road up about a mile and a half. Once again....its best in the early morning.

395 is one of THE most beautiful highways in the US and its best to take your time and explore. Have a great trip and let us all know how your adventure goes Sam.
