The Cottonwood Spring is a special place. No one is denied access to this area which is on public lands. The BLM created a designated parking area by fencing off the roads entering this hidden oasis. The motorcycle intrests bypassed the fence and continued cross country through the ACEC in violation of the law. Youre absoultly right Katrina that local landowners have an intrest here. I bought my land in the area because I treasure the beauty of the living desert and the sounds of silence which are increasingly rare these days. I remember when this trail was non existant and left to nature, the wound will heal itself. The cultural area needs protection and removal or disturbing aritfacts is a federal crime. Non motorized access to the area provides for those who wish to enjoy some solitude and makes perfect sense within the management plan for the ACEC. Would it hurt the OHV intrests to park their vehicles and walk a little bit? No cards up my sleeves Katrina, just the bare facts.
