I lived in LA in 1970, and that spring I heard about a place out in the desert east of LA called Bowen Ranch.
It had a deep river canyon running thru it with hot springs coming out of the canyon wall. Some friends and I
went and it was one of the most magical places I had ever been to. The canyon was deep maybe 200 feet
with a small river running thru it at the bottom. There was a small grove of cottonwood trees near where
the hot springs flowed down the canyon wall to the river. There was a small band of hippies camped there
more or less permanently. My friends and I went there almost every week for a few days. And became
"semi-residents" ourselves. I wonder if this is the same Bowen Ranch?
