Folks,

From Sycamorelaughing's notes, it sounds like you had a good meeting. The synergy of getting together in a group to discuss common goals can accomplish good things. I'm glad that the logo examples provided a starting point for further discussions. Always good to have something tangible to start with.

I think your suggestion to alter the slogan is excellent. I didn't even think about the "Take only photographs" angle. That's a major "Duh!" that I missed. (Actually I "stole the slogan from my favorite t-shirt... ;o) ) Anyway, the "Respect this place..." twist it very postive. And seems to fit well with your charter.

Something else I picked up the other day (which doesn't really have much to do with DCV) but seems to describe the atmosphere and "karma", if you will, of the place that is Deep Creek:

"The Earth has music for those who will listen."

And with regards to the negative comments you got back on your brochure; well it's too bad that there are those who misconstrue good things. There will always be someone out there looking for an apportunity for an arguement. Appropriate tempered responses from Sycamore, by the way.
