Speaking of snakes Laughing Bear, hiking through the short section of deep Sycamore leaves last weekend was a bit uncomfortable realizing that a rattlesnake might be hidden somewhere under the insulation of those leaves :-) Your right, the exploring is great in the cooler months. I usually check out new routes going in, and downhill in case the going gets tuff, like last weekend. There are alot of neat places along Deep Creek that most people will never check out because of the trouble to get to them. Signs of humanity are still found along the creek in places, like the small basketball I saw when we reached the creek after exiting the that canyon full of leaves. It was quite dirty and stuck in the bushes along the creek. I've got some more new routes to check out soon :-)
