The EA presents the environmental consequences of two alternatives analyzed in detail, including no action. The comment period allows the public an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to a final decision.

The project area is located in the San Gabriel Mountain Range, approximately 30 miles northeast of Los Angeles, covering 346,177 acres of land. The Forest Service proposes to change some existing management to be consistent with the Presidential Proclamation establishing the monument. A decision whether to amend the Forest Plan, as proposed, or to make adjustments is based on environmental analysis and public comment.

Copies of the EA are available for your review at the Angeles National Forest Supervisor’s Office and on the project website at http://bit.ly/monumentpublicmeeting Please contact Justin Seastrand at (626) 574-5278 or email jseastrand@fs.fed.us for additional information.
