blueye7 when was the last time you visited the springs? the photo you posted is from a lake arrowhead local from early May. here is the tree in a photo someone else posted early August :

the tree was saved. it was completely knocked over and its roots mostly ripped from the ground before it was pruned, as you put it, and uprighted, and replanted essentially.
