Sam, great info and I couldn't agree more. (Were you talking about Remington?)
Frankly, PCT hikers should not be allowed to camp at the springs since it is illegal for ALL to camp there. There are plenty of other locations along the PCt taht are relatively close to the springs where they could camp.
