I'm a reasonably proficient mountain biker, but you are the first one I've ever heard of taking one down and up the Bowen Ranch trail. It wouldn't take much to wipe out on the trail and end up way down the big slopes! I suspect also you didn't ride up MoFo Hill ;-) (The huge hill nearest the creek!
