After reading Melloguy's post about his camping trip to Bowen Ranch I discovered that there is a 3 sided outhouse for the campers to use and he mentioned that Mike Castro allows you to obtain water from somewhere near his home. I did not know that this was an option in the past and I have always brought my own. As mentioned in another post you can drink the spring water where it comes out of wall by the crab cooker (from a small copper pipe I think) but it is not very fun to have to hike back and forth from the camp sites down to the springs everytime you needed more water. It is about a two mile hike and a 1,000 foot change in elevation.
Also I hope you get the chance to hike and camp sans clothing, it is a totally liberating experience, it is the only way I hike to the springs. Once you have done it you are hooked and won't ever want to hike to the springs clothed again.
Enjoy your visit.
