Actually regarding Deep Creek for its full length, the USFS rules are there is not supposed to be camping within a mile of either side of the creek. I think fire is also prohibited in this same zone. If you call the Sky Forest Ranger station near Lake Arrowhead they can tell you all the current regulation regarding your camping question.
