I receive questions and commentary posted to the DCV website. I got this in my e-mail on Sunday:
Date: Sunday, October 12, 2008Time: 09:30 AM -0500 forum: I have hiked both ends of the Pacific Crest Trail to the Deep Creek Hotsprings over the past two months. On Labor Day weekend I was horrified at the state of the surrounds. Campers everywhere. Approaching from the North, I had to negotiate around a large area of human waste. Obviously, no attempt at all had been made to bury or contain any of it. Disgusting. From the South, on two trips, I have found quite a bit of trash. Yesterday, I carried out two bags full of trash.
