To Paul and interested others,

Converting the pages of Gertie Bowen's memoir to jpg files and then compiling them into a Adobe Acrobat PDF file/book eliminates the need to crank the mimeograph machine (remember grade school, Boomers?) or steal time on the office copier. We just post the pdf file on an accommodating member's web site (Oh Rick, we're writing about you here) and whomever wants the memoir just loads it to a CD or flash thumb drive and lets Kinko or that aforementioned office copier run it off.

An ongoing concern is whether any Bowen heirs currently claim ownership of the memoir. The listing on Amazon.com does raise my lawyer/scumbag aversion reaction. Grrrrrr.
