Venezuela signs oil deal with China

Venezuela has signed deals to supply oil to China as part of a drive by Hugo Chavez, the south American nation's president, to break his dependence on energy exports to the United States.

Venezuela will double its exports to China by sending 300,000 barrels per day of crude in 2007, officials said at a signing ceremony in Caracas on Monday.

"Venezuela has always said it wants to turn itself into a secure and increasing source of oil supply to China," Chavez said at a gathering marking the visit of Li Changchun, a member of China's Politburo Standing Committee.

China is the world's second biggest oil consumer. Venezuela says it pumps about 3.3 million barrels of oil per day (bpd) although analysts say the figure is about 2.7 million. It is the fifth-largest oil exporter to the United States.

Last year, the Opec nation sold only 150,000 bpd of crude to China. Chavez has said Venezuela is looking to ship one million bpd there by 2012. ............

Clearly, with more oil going to China from Venezula, less will be coming to the US. These are the kinds of developments, when combined, mean far less oil available to the US, from major world oil producers. Hence Bush's desperate and immoral moves in attacking Afganistan and Iraq, and maybe soon Iran. His options are diminishing by the day, and the world that has seen this US administration wreak havoc on middle eastern countries in seeking oil, and the power it brings, will cry thier crocodile tears, while they find a myriad of ways to bleed the beast.

It is said that the US military is the biggest entity, even regarding any of the world's nations, that uses by far the most oil. Any supprise that its endeavors of late, revolve around maintaining a continuation of oil supply to it, and secondarily ( by volume, and I think even as priority ), to the US economy. A military complex, that represents the most vast one ever seen in humanity's history, will be used by immoral leaders like the ones in our current administration, to work at achieving thier unethical agenda's. Problem is, as the enormous pressures build on the US empire from current quickly developing geopolitcal stresses, diminishing resources, huge adverse climate events, etc, its vast military complex may very well seek to preserve itself, in an array of ways that are not based on the ethical considerations of the citizens in which they are intrusted to protect. Its happened as such in all great societies before us, and there is no reason to expect, that we are somehow imune to this reality. The US is bloated with the excesses that great powers gather for themselves, complete with massive parts of its population who rarely think of the carnage thier affluence wreaks in other lands, on other peoples. Such imbalances in the human condition, eventually, sooner or later, see the demise of the offending nation, and assuredly, they will be replaced, by a new rising power.
