I've fallen crossing the creek at the rock crossing a few times. Definitely no fun hiking out on a cold day with wet cloths and shoes! Looks like you had a real quiet day at DCHS Rick, in terms of other visitors. About the time you took that photo, I was up hiking to some spots I like in Granite Mountains. The wind was blowing pretty briskly in my area. Probably not to bad for you down in the Deep Creek Canyon. Looks like we got some colder weather coming for the next couple of days, maybe rain, and even some snow in the mountains. Interesting to see the push of clouds coming up from the south today and yesterday. Now the clouds will be coming from the north with the cold air. On New Years day I was down at DCHS and got the pool hose I keep down there and me and another regular visitor ( Naked Man ) gave the bottom of the Womb a real good cleaning. Over time, from all the people moving around, lots of algae rubs off and drift to the bottom, and forms deep layers in the crevices between the rocks. The suction of my inch and a half flexible pool hose really works on that stuff. Gotta take it slower with the heavier sand. Well hopefully we get some decent rains before this winter is over, if not, the fire season this year could get ugly.
