Regarding the Rock Crossing, the big floods of the winter season in 2004/2005 actually washed away the rocks that we used to cross the stream on, just at the bottom of the cliff seen in your photo Rick. Now when you get to the bottom, you cross on differant rocks, about 30 feet upstream from the old crossing spot. These rocks cannot be seen in your photo, being in a position just behind the big whitish granite boulder in the lower left of your photo. The crossing there is easy. My two daughters did it with ease, even at the stream levels shown in your photo.
