My neighbor and I are working together to try and stop our noisy and confrontational new neighbors from using thier property, and incidently our dirt roads in the area, as thier personal moto cross track. Last weekend I called in a noise complaint to the San Berdo Sherrifs and within 10 minutes the police red chopper was over the offending riders to my supprise telling them to stop the riding. Shortly after the chopper left the riders began again so I called the sherrifs again who sent a deputy this time. Unfortunately this deputy after talking to the offending riders basically gave them the ok to ride on thier property ( which made them ride even more out of vengence ), and this same deputy told me later in a phone conversation that he owns, and rides dirt bikes, so no supprise that he supported the riders position. My neighbor contacted code enforcement who then sent a letter to the riders residence telling them to " abate " thier noisy activity, and disruption of the peace and quiet of the our neighborhood. Funny thing, the first letter code enforcement sent out, went to my neighbor by accident, so we got a copy, and first hand look at thier abatement warning. The battle is ongoing, with mixed signals being given by law enforcement regarding our problem with the noisy riders. Hopefully code enforcement will follow through and shut them down, if not, for one, I'll be writting another letter to Bill Postmus to complaing about the sheriff not enforcing the new ORV ordinance regarding our situation. Anybody got any other ideas let me know, we are following up every avenue that seems like it might help our situation.
