First Half of 2006 Is Warmest on Record
The first half of the year was the warmest on record for the United States.
The government reported Friday that the average temperature for the 48 contiguous United States from January through June was 51.8 degrees Fahrenheit, or 3.4 degrees above average for the 20th century.
That made it the warmest such period since recordkeeping began in the National Climatic Data Center reported...........
For the world, 2005 was the warmest year on record. Looks like we may top that, this year. There are issues regarding this climate crisis that are just coming to light, positive feedback loops in the system, that may really speed up the dire processes of how fast the greenhouse gases will warm the earth. We are embarked on a dangerous experiment with our life support system, and we may have already screwed things up to much, to fix it anymore.
