Not only did Saddam not present a threat to us, his hard line against his own people kept the religious extremists in Iraq in check. We are now saddled with that task in a new powder keg where Islamic terrorist groups have expanded outside their former confines in Afghanistan.

Bush expected that Iraqi oil would finance the "democritization" of Iraq, but the American public will continue to pay dearly well into the future.

Meanwhile, Exxon/Mobil just announced highest profits ever reaped by an American company in a single quarter.
