Take a look at the southern Floridians hit by Hurricane Wilma, and how life gets primitive, and tempers flare, when populations do without the usual energy sources, that they have become accustomed to, like gas, oil, and electricity ( much produced by hydrocarbons ). Thier current fate, is a window, into similiar, and even more dire scenarios, that will be precipitated by declining hydrocarbon availability. Its no coincidence that a multitude of US military bases have sprung up in recent years, all around the big oil fields in the middle east. The powers that be, are positioning themselves, to do what it takes, moral or not, to keep the oil tap flowing, for as long as possible. Can't run the Big Profit Machines without that Black Gold! North Korea is suggested as being such a big threat, with thier nuclear program, and " bad friends ", but since they have no oil, the US has no reason to bother with them much, even though that country is part of, as the president has said, " the Axis Of Evil ". I wonder if Darth Vader lives there too! Its just like Saddam, was never any real threat to the american public, and thier way of life. Heck, he used to be one of the US,s Big Pals, until he started getting some of his own ideas, about how to run his own country, bad JUJU for the control freaks in the administration, because, he might then even decide, to not give the US his oil. I think we can all agree, Saddam was no prince, but then again, he was no threat. Remember what the president said in warning to Saddam and his forces, before we started pounding Irag to smithereens, whatever you do, " don't touch the oil wells ". He also said to america, " we don't want the smoking gun, to be a mushroom cloud ", that, was to get the public and congress on board for the war, the sentiment " Saddam is threatening doom to our homeland, lets stop him before he strikes ", the name given to this enterprise, Shock And Awe, a mantra to stir the Masses, against a great Evil. Then once the troops were in, the powers that be knew, yes, they knew, there were no " Weapons Of Mass Destuction ", that was just thier ploy, and then , the second part of thier shady gameplan was implemented, to provide a distraction from the initial cause for war, this was, Iraqi Freedom, yes, we are here, and we have come, to spread democracy to a struggling country with a dictator. Of course, if that had been the initial reason suggested for going to war, we wouldn't be there now, and the powers that be, knew this well. Remember also, what got protected when the troops went in, the only thing that really got protected, the Oil Ministry, with all of its records, of the oil fields, the big prize! But it may come down to it, in the end, that the warlords, and Oil Barons, have bitten off more than they can chew, thier stealthy plans, have run askew. So day by day, when you hear the president say, " we will not leave Iraq, until the job is done ", what he is really saying between the lines is, " we will not leave Iraq, until the Oil Is Done ". But you know what, there are other peoples, and other countries in this world, and rest assured, they have thier own stealthy plans too, and as history has shown, empires come, and empires go.
