The last time I dipped in Sheppard's Pool was on a hot springs bagging weekend with the Sierra Club Singles led by Dave Bybee, one of the writers
(along with Jayson Loam and Marjorie Gersh-Young) of the Hot Springs of the Southwest (also Northwest) books. At that time (1991) there was no lake in the background.

What a summer to be a hot springer!
