I remember about 35 years ago camping with my dad in a USFS campground that existed then in back of the dam. We would drive down Deep Creek Rd to the dam then up the spillway ( no big boulders blocking its entrance then ) to the otherside to this campground. It was a very nice place with a big long pool in Deep Creek just up stream. As Rick says the place got hammered by trash, graffiti, and other abuse, sad to see, and now the area is closed.
