Yes Laughing Bear, we did see a couple of those shell mounds which I believe my friend referred to as " midens ". He had a few 3D photos of them in his presentation. One of them he had pictured we walked by and it was almost completely covered by moving sand from the recent storms. We also found a spot in the dunes where there was scattered in about a 6 foot circle, very old pieces of rusty metal, what it came from, we could only wonder. At the bird watchers gathering I came across a book that showed old photos of Morro Bay taken back in the late 1800's which showed Morro Rock was not even connected to the shore at that time. LB, is Whitey your reference to great white sharks?
