I am responding to laughing bear from 6/18. I doubt it was those drunk teenagers, who are never quite as drunk as the adult who accompanies them to the springs. That crowd, which arrived at roughly the same time as did Jobe, is not as 'bad' as it may appear. I've seen them at the springs three times now, and they have never in those times left any trash. I have seen some of them being very respectful of others and encouraging others to do the right thing. Well, some of them are loud, and that can be annoying, but the part of the crowd that came in from jf3 included the ones who have shown this respect, so I doubt it was them. However, before heading down from Bowen that day I witnessed a number of people on motorbikes riding the roads around Bowen, and also recall hearing gunshots from the springs before dark. I don't think it is right to make assumptions about ANYONE when there are so many possibilities. Random acts of violence and vandalism do occur everywhere in our society. Fortunately, so do random acts of kindness and beauty. Sometimes the best things can be found in the most unlikely places.
