It was a great experience helping the USFS pick up the trash. I was talking to one of the supervisors who mentioned that this was the last week for the seasonal fire crews and they wanted to utilize the man power. He also mentioned that they would like to make a greater effort in policing the area and trying to keep the springs natural and pristine, in spite of their budget problems. He really appreciates all the efforts that the volunteers do to keep DCHS clean. Without our efforts it is likely that the Forest Service would have to limit the use of the springs, siting other areas that get over used. I have had a chance to visit other hot springs and it is my experience that there is a always a contingent of volunteers who take an interest in keeping these areas suitable for everyone's use. Keep up the good work.
