Wow. Wish I'd seen them hiking out, red-faced, sweaty and complaining. I would have come over to their group and said, "How are you?"by SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
It's not legal for anyone to camp within a mile of the creek.by SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I remember you from last Halloween, you and a girl hiked down to DCHS as Trail Fairies with wings, Aaron had a pitchfork. Glad to hear you are such a regular, wish I could join you. The Springhill Suites just east of I-15 on Main has really nice, really huge rooms (a sitting room and bedroom make up the suite), an indoor Jacuzzi adjacent to the pool (you'll need a swimming costume, booo!) andby SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
No problems, we all love this place, and are glad you do too. Hope you make it back soon!by SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Massilia, if the Army needs to train for clothing-optional hot springs warfare, I am in favor of turning the area over to them a day or two a year. I hope they can negotiate a better rate than $10/Sargent for camping at Bowen. Anyway, it is kind of interesting that you are writing not from a Florida IP/Host, but from an Australian one, and that you just registered here today. Seems that any seismic activity has the potential to readjust the hot water flow to our wonderful springs, for the better or the worse. It is just another reason to hike down and enjoy DCHS as often as possible!by SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks for the great report neo, especially regarding the roads. Looking forward freehiking from Bowen Sunday and Monday, but I'm driving a minivan and now am thinking about parking above the bad spot in his road. It was in pretty miserable shape last time I was there, in June.by SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I understand exactly what you are saying, he is a loon. I'm curious what the reaction of the police chief would be if you went in and had a conversation about Wild Bill Hickock every time he did something like that. Seems like you need to put the PD on notice of his criminal activities otherwise they'll claim ignorance when something bad happens, and just try to prove them to be lying. Here in Arizona, carrying a loaded pistol on your hip has always been legal, concealing it under a shirt required a concealed carry permit. Last year our "constitutional carry" law was enacted, allowing any non-felon to carry a pistol however he wants, no permit required. By the way, there also are no provisions for registering pistols or rifles. Guess what: even with permissive gunby SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sure wish I would have been in the area, would have joined you for the day. You're so right about how nice it is not having to wear sweaty clothes home. FYI, Maniac Mike has a shower set up attached to the ranch house. He showed me how to use it once. Last time I tried it all I got was a dribble, which I was grateful for, and combined with my bar of soap was good enough to wash the sweat off.by SilverAvion - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
