Does anyone know how old Matt is? I would aggree to the suggested age minimum of 14 sounds about right. Of course, we can do whatever we want as we are guided by our own group conscious. I propose we vote him in and ask for his input on this issue. I think Wizards proposal of adding the information brochure to the existing signs is a good one provididng the USFS approves of this idea. On the subject of signs.....well, they are great targets for grafitti and vandalism. My opinion is the USFS should handle the issue exclusivly. Our mission statement does include educating the public and I believe that the information handout is plenty. And...it is easily folded and carried out in a pocket.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thankyou sister Sycamore for the minutes.I hope you did well with that school paper. I would like to suggest giving Matt full membership including a vote. I was about the same age as him when I first wandered Deep Creek canyon and his vision is just as valuable to our group as anyones. As far as the login thing goes, blocks can be removed as easily as they can be applied. Rick finances this sby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wow..............things sure are quiet here. That prozac must be kicking in.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was bit by one at the spillway in 1982. I still have the scar on my arm. It happened when my girlfriend and I sat down under a small waterfall to cool off. We didnt know it was laying up behind the waterfall and I got bit when I put my arm around my sweetie. Lesson learned.....they will defend themselves if cornered. I am not suprised that a few remain as Deep Creek is a rugged and remote canyby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Several years ago, beavers were ravaging the native trees up and down the creek. DFG sent trappers in to remove these non native critters. It seems this latest damage was from the two legged species of beaver. I would like to thank the anonymous soaker who took the time and effort to scrub all of that black soot off the rocks by the crab cooker. Even though some idiot broke the trees, the gooby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
A very cryptical post there Mr Wizard. But....it was a very beautiful day to enjoy a soak. Luna sure is shining bright tonite!by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Bear Valley Road travells through the stoplight forest. Where have all the old Joshua trees gone? There used to be a huge forest of them along Deep Creek road and they were all chained dragged out for a water sucking alfalfa farm that has since gone dry. The topsoil now blows on the wind.........And the dirtbikers continue to ravage the no vehicle areas of the Deep Creek drainage.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
No conflict for me....I have to work both days. Enjoy the hot water and have a happy birthday Sycamoreby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hey....this is a great idea. Save several million bucks by not building more on and off ramps in Victorville! There is plenty of access already for those who live there.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Dang that mailman........he keeps bringing more bills!by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The DCHS inc site has mysteriously disapeared into the Deep Creek triangle. Although its host Katrina seems to be alive and well, the website is missing without a trace. Did it meet some unknown demise or is it just on vacation like the road grader driver last summer. Time will reveal more for the curious readers here.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
My money is betting that the BLM will end up pissing everybody off.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Ok....ok.....whatever! Its like Rick said, its a button he can click. And speaking of closed threads, what has happeneed to the DCHS inc website? I have been unable to access it for over a week. Is it the aol server or is the site down. Whats up Katrina?by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I believe that some threads have been closed so we can move on to more positive subjects. Lets put the negativity behind us.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I agree with Wizard's post. Az Mike's lack of online respect earned him "the gong" It looks like he is off the show. Ron has a good point as well. I did witness Az Mike and Gary R talking together for a while with no hostility at the hotsprings. Peace to all....and happy soaking everyone.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sycamore Laughing is having trouble being accepted into this new format. Has she been bannished too? I think she could use some help negotiating the software Rick.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was wondering if this software will enable people to be selectivly banned from posting. With the problems of late, i have noticed no new posts from Az Mike since the change.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
A little more rain fell in the Deep Creek area yesterday bringing some more relief to all of those thirsty plants left by the Willow Fire. It was a refreshing beautiful morning and the ground remains damp and ready for more. I cruised my neighborhood and took an informal poll of my neighbors feelings about the "village code invasion"link on the DCHS inc website and the response was uby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Deep Creek canyon is a day use area and camping is prohibited within 1 mile of the water. The best place to camp in the area is at the Bowen Ranch where Mike usually allows campfires. The BLM lands are open to camping as well. I would encourage you to come and enjoy the area but please respect the USFS regulations.by LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
My property was cited for code violations because.........there were code violations. I do believe that you flatter yourself too much by claiming to protect the property owners from further code enforcement action. The County of San Bernardino continues to enforce the law with the residents who are non compliant. In my opinion, it is hypocritical to take a pious stand on the law being upheld inby LaughingBear - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
