... just put 3 bags near the backdoor of the suv in my garage, went home to get some coffee and then left without the bags. I never claim that I am a smart person . But driving so much in a single dat really messed up my back. I need to get some soaking done soon. If you are coming to DCHS on Nov 14, I might see you. I plan on going. Hi! I was told that citations were issued at Big Caliente last year after the ranger told people to get dressed and people tried to bully the ranger with their great law knowledge. Nudity at Big Caliente depends on the circumstances. If children come in you might want to get dressed. It's almost always nude after sundown. I've always been nakid at Little Caliente. You can see pretty far aby Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I like Little Caliente a lot as the water there seem to make me feel 10 years younger and gives me unprecedented boost of energy. Too bad the road is such a pain. If anybody wants to go there after Nov 3, I'd like to catch a ride. I'll provide all the beer Big Caliente is also pretty good but I stopped going there for a while after witnessing a pissing contest - five large families cheeby Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I hit both Calientes a day before my visit to DCHS. I posted my report at soakersforum.com http://www.soakersforum.com/3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1333 How did you find out I went there?by Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Came down to the springs around 1PM just to catch some people leaving. Overall I counted around 20 people at all times. 3 dudes on mini bikes came down to the spring at 3:30ish. They spent no more than 15 minutes. The bikes did not have any license plates. It looks like somebody dumped a bunch of cans and bottles on both sides of the MOFO hill and on the hill side of the trail furthby Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
... forgot to mention that there is a bunch of people camping upstream. I was told that they are the PCT crew doing some work. Can somebody tell me what kind of work is being done on the trail please. I talked to them and mentioned few times that their camp site is trashy at best.by Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
After 4 year hiatus I made a triumphant return to the DCHS. The road to the Bowen Ranch was in a much better shape than I ever recalled. I saw ranger Burns and some young ranger hiking up the trail. I was told they issued tickets for camping to some folks whom I met on my way down. I made to the springs at around 1PM and met a bunch of regulars I’ve seen last 4 years ago with the exby Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thank you, Jobe. I do not think 4 PM will work. I need to be in Vegas for this stupid teleconference call by 5 PM. I was thinking of going there in the morning and leaving at 4PM. Based on the forecast, it might be raining as well :-( I guess I'll have to postpone my exploring until better times. I appreciate the directions given by everyone. I'll save them to my disk. Thanks for the tips, DCR. I have a few questions: 1) How long does it take to drive on the dirt road? 2) If I was to check the weather on weather.com, what should I enter - Death Valley or something else? 3) Obviously, this is not a one day adventure. Can you drive on the road in the dark? I think I'll try on the President's Day weekend so if I get stuck, somebody can pull me out :-)by Sam D. - California Hot Springs
Hi! Is the road passable in a sedan ? I'd like to go but do not have an SUV or a truck. Somebody told me the road requires one of those. I was wandering if I still need one after the road got graded. Thanks for the info... --Samby Sam D. - California Hot Springs

Thanks to all the people on this forum who helped me with advice and directions. This Saturday after I finished some business in Santa Barbara I headed to Little Caliente Hot Springs. If you ever get directions from the Internet sites, make sure you check them against the map. I found this out the hard way. After spending 2.5 hours I had to go back to where I started from. I bought a map at a gasby Sam D. - California Hot Springs
Hi! I am back to CA and would like to greet all my friends I met at the DC. My choice of access is through the Bowen Ranch but during winter I'd like to investigate the Bradford Ridge. Does anybody have or can anybody post GPS coordinates of all the major turns on the way to DC if driving from LA please? Also, GPS coordinates of the parking lot are greatly appreciated. Hi! What are the road condition and creek level after that crazy storm? Heavy rains do a number on a freshly graded road. Please report if the road is passable in a small sedan and how deep the creek is. Thank you in advanceby Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The road was graded on Thursday, Dec 22 and was in a great shape. Will anybody post the current condition please.by Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Just came back from DCHS, had a great day at the springs. There were fewer than 15 people all day. As always after Thanksgiving holidays, trash is abundant. Some good soul collected a lot of it and parked by the shore. The bags have been broken into most likely by wild animals, however, and are not in the condition to be carried out. I got my trash bag full but had tears in my eyes leaving 4-5by Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I went to DC this Thursday. It was a beautiful sunny day with little wind. I counted 16 people all together for the entire day, most naked. The place was exceptionally clean with only few cigarette buts laying around and 2 glass bottles. I picked the bottles and gave a good burial to all buts I saw. I found a gigantic 4 lbs candle somebody left near the Womb. I buried it until the next time.by Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hi! Is the road still passable in a small sedan after the recent rains ? Please post Thank you in advance, Samby Sam D. - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I like the old style better. I agree it takes longer to download entire page even on a DSL line. I noticed that each line is being flashed out during page's load. Hi ! I am wandering how the road to Bowen Ranch is after all these daily T-Storms? Is it passible in a sedan ? Is there a lot of mud ? What should I expect at the springs after/during the T-Storms ?
