The water seeps out of the rocks into the pools and the creek. How could you measure the flow?by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I see that picture with algae. I've never seen algae like that before. Ive seen the water get murky, and full of weeds but never full of algae. Is it that toxic algae? https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CCDPHP/DEODC/EHIB/EAS/Pages/HABs.aspxby Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Cattle Canyon That's East Fork San Gabriel Canyon. The area is a dump! Trash and graffiti all over the place like the rest of the Angeles National Forest. Drove up Hiway 39 this summer. Saw tones of people, trash, traffic, and no law enforcement. No Hiway Patrol, Sheriffs, or Rangers!by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Back in the day....you would have to pay a toll to Bowen Ranch, " Bowen Ranch Toll Road" to cross or park at Bowen Ranch. You could then drive down to the hiking trail from the ranch. I hear somebody complained about being charged to cross into public lands. So Bowen Ranch closed the 4x4 trail through there property and now charge to park or camp. Now you have the option of parking atby Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The springs are always more enjoyable when naturist groups show up. Don't like hiking down to the springs and be that "Naked Guy". Been going down to the springs since the late 80's. Where did all the naked springers go?by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I have been out to Sand Hollow State Park and saw the "Swimmers Itch" sign posted at the entrance. So I had to look it up. I had no problems when I was there. Thought I would just pass on the information. http://stateparks.utah.gov/parks/sand-hollow/swimmers-itch/by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Interesting reading. I'm glad you came out ok! I work construction and know of one worker that got a "staph" infection from a small cut. Another time a worker was bit by a spider. They think maybe a Black Widow. Some people may come down with "swimmers itch" after swimming in warm waters. Like hot springs!by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was there a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday. Perfect weather for a naked hike! Was I the only one naked at the springs? Moved on up the PCT. Way to many people at the springs but there are some great places up the creek to spend the day.by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hey there JIMI, It's been a long time since the Green T was last seen at the springs. You guys would always bring good people. Not like today. Things have changed for the worst. To many rowdy people bringing there city mentality. I like the old days just hanging out and enjoying the wilderness naturally!by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was out fourwheeling Saturday. Found two couples wandering the trails from Bowen Ranch. Doesn't Mike hand out maps any more?by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So Sunday I was out in my 4x4 and stopped at the springs to check it out. I havent been there in sometime. I had no plans on staying long just out for a hike and a dip in the creek. There was at least 60 people down at the creek. I just did a rough count. All in swim suites. There may have been others nude but I didnt see them from the beach. So I just drank my water and headed back up to my truby Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Good day at the creek. Mild temps and only about a dozen naked people. Very mellow! There was a 2wd van with two flat front tires at the bottom of that steep hill down to the lower parking area. Any body know if he got out?by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QAtjTvqVmQI That area is where Deep Creek spills out into the Mojave Desert. It's the start of the Mojave River. It's been used by offroaders for years but now some offroaders are driving through the tunnel and going around or over the barricade at the other end and driving further up the creek.by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thats area has been closed for years but people go around barriers and disregard posted signs. The county Sheriff raids the place from time to time but the people come back. It is a great place to spend a hot summer day and go for a swim but some people just trash the place. I havent been there in a couple of years but the last time a Sheriff and BLM asked us to leave. Yes I am an offroader butby Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I stayed four days at the springs last week. The weekend was crowded with offroaders at the upper springs. I found it quiet odd that they stayed dressed around the springs. At least kick off the shoes! I'm glad they moved on Sunday. Sunday afternoon was great as many people had left or where leaving. As I sat in the Wizard pool a nice women came walking by from the showers and sat down. We talkeby Rudedog - California Hot Springs

Last I heard the 173 was closed. I would go to Fawnskin and drive Coxley Truck Trail to Bowen Ranch Road. Easy graded fire road.by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
How's the water flow in the creek? Very little rain or snow in the mountains. Is the creek flowing or is it getting murky and full of weeds? I got no work tomorro so might head on out there.by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I was down there last friday. There was only maybe eight people. 99 percent in swim suites.by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I had all my clothes in my backback and my boots in hand when I crossed the stream to the beach. The water was about lower than wast high when I slipped on the rocks. Getting everything wet. Do you really think I would cross the stream with clothes on? What you smokin?by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
You have to be careful going down to the Springs in the winter. I had a very good day soaking at the Springs one winter only to fall into the creek on my way out. It was about sun down and getting close to freezing when I slipped and fell while crossing the stream.. Wetting my backpack with all my dry clothes and boots. I hiked back to my truck in wet boxers and boots. The boxers and boots had icby Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Quotethepathlesstaken I-5 traffic from LA and OC to SD has been a bear on Saturdays 8 AM - 2 PM and Sundays during extended weekends. I have always taken the 60 to 15 and get off at Miramar Road, but I drive from the East San Gabriel valley. This route isn't what it use to be 25 years ago but it does detour around the OC. I just got back from the beach!by Rudedog - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
