Spence Hot Springs - Trip Report 6/4/10

Wow! What a great day.

I got a great tip on this New Mexico hot spring. Spence Hot Springs in the Jemez area if NM.

It doesn't seem to be well known, but you can find stuff on it.

It is an easy hike from the road. Hills are kind of steep but it is just not a far hike, The area is beautiful. It's a bit over an hour from Albuquerque.

The weather was great, mid 80's when it was over 100 in ABQ. I hiked the trail nude to and from the bridge over the river. No one bothers you but it had only a light turnout. There were a couple of guys there when I arrived. One nude in the pool, one on a hammock. Very friendly.

A couple or two showed up. One pair got in the pool with suits on. Several other guys showed up and got in nude. All were friendly.

It is really a great place. I would recommend it if you are ever in ABQ.
