Those unfortunate hikers last winter found out the hard way how quickly the weather can change and paid for it with a life. I would like to urge people to be prepared for the backcountry environment when hiking in the fall/winter. A cell phone wont help you unless youre on a mountaintop. Hypothermia is deadly.
